Arizona Cardinals
Like I said in my previous post, I am going to try and go through and tell you a little bit about each team before the 2009 season starts. Since, the Arizona Cardinals are first alphabetically, then I am going to start with them. So here goes:
The Arizona Cardinals came so close to winning the Super Bowl last year. It came down to the Steelers vs. the Cardinals. The final score was 27-23, which was a very close and exciting game. Since the Cardinals have been in Arizona, they have never made it to the Super Bowl.
The Cardinals were founded in 1898, and they are the oldest professionally ran American football team in the United States.
The Cardinals originated in Chicago before they were moved to Arizona in 1988. They have managed to qualify for the playoffs only 6 times. In those 6 times qualifying, they have only won 5 playoff games.
The Cardinals first 2009 season game is against the San Francisco 49ers, which will be a home game for Arizona. Stay tuned to see how the Cardinals bounce back from an upset at the Super Bowl!
